not your grandmother's stencil!

i have been needing to change
the accent wall
in my living room for quite some time.

(before)

the squares served their purpose
for almost 9 years
but it was time to go.

geoff had a day off work,
(always dangerous for him.
i'm sure he regrets about 95% of his days off...
ha ha)
so i pleaded for him to slap up my new wall.

i have been smitten with wall stencils
for quite some time,
so i just had to pick one.

now this is a normal person's stencil tools.

and this is my husband's.

oh boy.
i didn't want it to look "stencily" and washed out,
so to ensure it had crisp lines,
he decided to bust out the industrial sprayer.

this was not the 3-hour project
i antipicated
(and/or promised him) it would be.

once mr. wonderful figured out a system,
it went pretty smoothly.

oh la la!

and i couldn't be more thrilled
with how it turned out.
it looks like expensive wallpaper
but with the added bonus
of me being able
to chose colors that coordinated
with the other three walls of my living room.

and now onto the next project. ;)
