we had our 20-week ultrasound yesterday afternoon.
for months, i have contemplated the new rage...
the gender reveal party.
defined: the ultrasonographer
seals the sex of the baby in an envelope.
you give the envelope to a predetermined baker,
and they bake a cake that is either pink or blue
on the inside
and a neutral color on the outside.
you gather family and/or friends together
and cut the cake so you all find out together.
i've been to one (geoff's brother and his wife)
and have seen pictures of another (friend: janine),
and i LOVED it.
anyway, we decided to do a cheater version
that i read about on a blog.
the husband and wife still found out
at the ultrasound but didn't tell a soul
until they hosted a party.
this is what geoff decided on.
we have three girls
and he felt like he didn't want
to be in a room full of people
to find out what #4 was.
can't blame the guy. ha ha
can't blame the guy. ha ha
so it was that AND the fact
that i have severe patience issues.
you have to understand, people,
that when he watches a tivo'd game from a few minutes behind,
i am on the laptop on the couch beside him
looking at the current score
because i just can't take it.
so you see the place i am coming from.
this is the way it had to be. ;)
we decided just to invite family
because i had read some things
saying how they are in bad taste
because who wants to give up an evening
to find out what your baby is.
i concluded that these people writing these articles
don't like their friends or family very much.
sheesh! ha ha
sheesh! ha ha
anyway, so tonight is our little shindig.
nothing fancy.
just some cupcakes or cake balls (haven't decided yet)
with some pink or blue in the inside.
so after the family,
i'll be sure you're the very first to know... ;)
